Appeal to supporters of MKO/MEK »

We are former members of MKO who are appealing to you and your colleagues to use your influence and contacts to allow members of MKO in camp Ashraf the opportunity to see their families.

Some politicians and lawmakers have chosen to stand with the MKO and have spoken on their behalf in different occasions (like removing them from the terrorist list, falsely presenting them as a “third alternative”, and so on).

We are asking that you make an appeal on behalf of people who are left without a voice in their plight.

As you know there are more than 3000 members of MKO stationed in Iraq on an isolated location called Camp Ashraf (or Ashraf City as is also known). Here they have been imprisoned since 2003 after the fall of Saddam Hussein.

As relations between the governments of Iran and Iraq got better, some attempts were made by families of MKO members in camp Ashraf to arrange for a visit with their sons & daughters. These attempts were made primarily by the parents or siblings of the members in camp Ashraf. The very first attempts started as early as 2003, some months after the fall of Saddam Hussein. Family members had to travel on very harsh and dangerous roads to reach Camp Ashraf which at that point was under the control of the United States Army.

Today however the MKO have made it impossible and downright dangerous for family members to get anywhere near Camp Ashraf. Parents and siblings who haven’t met their loved ones in years or decades are turned away at the gates under threats and abuse. The Mojahedin accuse them of being “spies” for the Iranian regime, even though all they want to do is meet their sons and daughters after years of separation.

This matter goes beyond politics and is just a basic matter of human rights. We ask respectfully that you make any effort possible to convince the leaders of the MKO to do the right thing in this matter and allow the families to visit their loved ones in camp Ashraf.

Please voice your concern on this matter to the MKO and demand that they allow the families of their own members to reconnect with their parents and siblings.

A leader of a terrorist organization is welcomed in Strasbourg »

Maryam Rajavi in Strasbourg

On Monday, October 1, 2007, Maryam Rajavi, the self appointed next president of Iran and the leader of the terrorist religious cult of mohahedin-e khalq of Iran was invited by the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats) Parliamentary Group to speak at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

This marked a dark day for the legitimacy and credibility of the EU.

Indeed, inviting Maryam Rajavi goes against the very core principles of democracy and its practice. Mrs. Maryam rajavi and her organization which she represents have never stood by any of her claim of a believer in democracy and human rights. She simply speaks what she believes people want to hear without ever backing those words with actions.

She, along with her organization is responsible for the killings of hundreds of innocent Iranians in the years 1982 to as recent as 2003. One of the key reasons for today’s brutal conditions in Iran is in part thanks to the mohajedin and their role in supporting a violent means to an end and legitimizing crackdown by the Iranian regime. MKO – spearheading the drum beat of war »

The MKO (Mojahedin-e Khalq of Iran) held a 30-minute conference on the 27th of September where they claimed that the Iranian government is constructing a secret underground nuclear facility for military purposes in central natanz, near a uranium enrichment plant. Further the group said to have passed its information, which it claims came from sources inside Iran, to the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria, but has so far not received a response. They even foresaw that they would not be taken seriously by the IAEA.

Mehdi Abrishamchi, one of the leading figures of mojahedin-e khalq of iran or NCRI (an umbrella organization of the MKO) lead the press conference personally, speaking both in Persian and French. He has a past stretching 20 years as liaisons between the mojahedin and the former regime of saddam Hussein, as seen in secretly filmed sessions seized after the fall of Iraq in 2003 by the Iraqi Intelligence service.
In the Iran - Iraq war (1980-1988), Mr. Abrishamchi was responsible of handing over countless military and intelligence information to the Iraqis. He was also personally involved in the planning of terrorist acts inside Iran which cost hundreds of lives.
Mehdi Abrishamchi, was also responsible in imprisonment, torture and murder of dissident voices within mojahedin. Such a figure, with a past of human rights violations is now claiming that he is presenting never before seen evidence that will “lead to peace in the region”.
The evidence presented during the press conference in Paris was regarded as a sham by the attending press and during the presentation a number of the journalists burst out in laughter as the so called “evidence” were being presented.
For those of us who are following the current situation in Iran it is very clear the the mojahedin has no support within the Iranian population and has no means of gathering intelligence. These allegations in such a critical era points to only two conclusions:
This new “evidence” is either a direct attempt by MKO in their quest for a war in with Iran or their behavior is in line with neo-con doctrine of intensifying the drum beat for war.
The Iranian nuclear debate can only be resolved through negotiations and pressure from the world community and not by military force.
Those who try to ignite the flames of war and lay the ground work for more bloodshed and chaos in the Middle East would be doing an unforgivable crime.

karim_haggi_large.jpgI would like to directs your attention for a few moments in order to give you a different view of the Mojahedon-e Khalq of Iran and why we think that they should stay in the EU terror list.

For the exile Iranians living abroad, and for those who have fought for democracy and the separation between state and religion it is a regrettable day when a terrorist leader can be so enthusiastically received by a number of the EU parliamentary Members.

The MKO (Mojahedin-e Khalq) or NCRI (National Council of Resistance of Iran) has in our view a dark history in regards to fighting for democracy and human rights. They are responsible of killing thousands of Iranian civilian with acts of terror and bombings of public places. They were regarded as the trusted partners of Saddam Hussein. In the rebellion of the Kurds in 1991, the Mojahedin in support of Saddam Hussein were responsible for the killing of tens of Kurdish citizen of Iraq. Many of our organizations members were members of the Mojahedin at that time and will never forget the famous words of Maryam Rajavi who gave these orders to his army: “do not waste bullets on the Kurds but rather roll over them with your tanks”.

The Mojahedin, under the leadership of Massoud Rajavi oppressed the Kurds in north of Iraq, and gave Saddam Hussein the opportunity to gather his forces and crush the Shi’a uprising in the South of the country.

Maryam and Massoud Rajavi, controls the organization with iron fists and look upon themselves as god-like figures sent to rescue Iran and Iranians and are only accountable directly to god. They have turned Mojahedin into a religious cult. They forced every husband and wife to get divorced and made sure that any feelings directed towards family, friends, mothers and children became a crime in of it self. The only “legal” feeling of love was to be held for the Rajavis.

In our view, there is no pride in supporting of a organization and individuals who have no belief in human rights and resort to torture and murder of those who believe differently then themselves.

In order to better understand the Mojahedin-e Khalq cult status, we remind you that after Maryam Rajavi’s arrest on 17 June 2003, over 10 member and followers of the Mojahedin set themselves on fire in protest to the arrest. This action can only be attributed to a cult where individuals are brainwashed and made to believe that their lives mean nothing and can be used as a tool.

I hope you would be able to find the time in order for us to sit down and talk about this in greater detail.

We are delighted that you spend time from your busy schedule to pay attention to the current situation in Iran and what’s happening in and around the Middle East. We hope that you will continue to show your interest in this very troubled area of the world.

As you know there are two sides to any story, and now that you have heard the Mojahedin’s side, you should also make an effort to listen to our side of the story. As both victims of the Iranian regime and the Mojahedin-e Khalq, it is necessary to get to know both perspectives.

With best regards

A committee from Iran Peyvand Association represented by Mr. Behzad Alishahi and Karim Haggi met with Mr. Luc Willems from the liberal democrats. The private meeting which took place inside the main senate building lasted more then two hours.

AS the head of the judiciary committee of Belgium, Mr. Willems also overlooks the state of cults within Belgium. Mr. Behzad Alishahi & Karim Haggi explained in detail their own personal experience with the cult of Mojahedin. They went into great details of the inner workings of this cult (MKO).

Mr. Willems confirmed that Belgium regards the Mojahedin-E khalq of Iran as a dangerous cult, and that his talks with both gentlemen further confirmed his stance.

Finally there was discussion on how to go about limiting the works of the cult of Mojahedin.
